Head of School
Dear Crestview Family,

The 2022-2023 school year reflected our community's desire to come together and reconnect in person. We saw an increase in parent volunteerism, participation in Parent Association events, and generous giving to our beloved school. We continued to spend the money raised on enhancing the student learning experience with an eye to the physical plant. The area near fourth grade was transformed into a learning sanctuary that leverages and extends the outdoors into the indoor space for our enhanced Environmental Science program. Nestled under the shade of a large oak tree, the classrooms in this area provide opportunities to learn in a serene space. Additionally, we were able to update all of our science materials in kindergarten through sixth grade, which included not only new demonstrations and experiments but also simulation capabilities for each lesson. In the Design Thinking Space, we were able to remodel it to include shade, flexible furnishings and storage for additional materials. With your generous giving, to
further differentiate our math program, we initiated a beta test of IXL to provide adaptive learning technology to better meet students in their individual learning. Finally, we sent faculty to Columbia University for the Reader's and Writer's Workshop training, our Computer Science team deepened their understanding of programming by training in Python through a Google Advanced course, and select teachers participated in a more in-depth professional development workshop in Responsive Classroom. As is our mission, we have continued to promote lifelong learning by paying for graduate-level courses that culminate in advanced degrees for our faculty and staff. I wanted to extend a huge thank you for your support, generosity and belief in our program. The investment in our School allows us to ensure that our students experience joyful learning and a childhood that is extraordinary.

Warmly,

Baudelia “Ms. Baudelia” Taylor
Head of School
