Third Grade

Get ready for a thrilling adventure with our third graders as they dive deep into the vibrant cultures of California's First Peoples. From the coastal Chumash to the mountain-dwelling Shasta, the third grade has been on a mission to uncover the rich tapestry of indigenous heritage. First, students mapped out California's diverse regions, discovering how geography shapes peoples’ ways of life. Next, they conducted research and became experts on their assigned tribes. They collaborated effectively in small groups to produce informative slideshow presentations, which they ultimately shared with their peers. Now, in our final unit bend, it's all about creativity as they craft dioramas of tribal lands, bringing to life everything from homes to tools to local wildlife.
