Second Grade

The holiday season is in full swing! December is full of celebrations and activities. As the glow of Hanukkah candles began to “illuminate” our classrooms, we kicked off the festivities with a delightful blend of creativity and tradition. Gathering together, we crafted our own menorahs, each flame representing the light and hope that this special festival brings. The air buzzed with creativity as we sat down to compose Hanukkah acrostic poems, weaving words that captured the essence of this joyous season. The kitchen became a hub of activity, filled with the sweet aroma of simmering apples as we prepared homemade applesauce—a symbolic treat to sweeten our celebrations. And of course, no Hanukkah kickoff would be complete without the sizzle of latkes in the pan, their golden perfection promising a savory delight to share and enjoy. It's in these moments of crafting, writing, and cooking that the true spirit of Hanukkah comes alive, bringing warmth, togetherness, and the magic of shared traditions into our classrooms.
