Lower Elementary Computer Science

In computer science, second-grade students are utilizing code.org as a platform to learn the basics of programming. This dynamic platform introduces them to programming using the game Angry Birds, in which they use sequential algorithms to skillfully guide a bird through a maze to reach and knock over a pig. Students assemble code blocks in a linear sequence that will instruct the bird to advance toward its goal using a combination of forward movements, left turns, and right turns. This immersive educational experience ensures that these budding programmers not only acquire foundational coding knowledge but also have fun as they learn.
