Fourth Grade

We are delving into our Studies Weekly curriculum in fourth grade! Fourth grade is a unique year in social studies as it is the only year that California history is taught in grades K-12. This year, we will learn about California’s distinct regions that make our state so unique. We will also learn about the Native Californian tribes that inhabited and adapted to each region of our state, as well as, acknowledge the continued presense of some tribes today. Then, we will learn about the early European explorations, the Mission era, the Mexican California era, and the Gold Rush era, which all led to California’s statehood. Along the way, we will enjoy various projects, activities, and events that will enrich our learning. In addition, students have access to the Studies Weekly website, which further enhances their learning experience by providing access to videos, comprehension questions, learning games, and other activities.
