Our third graders are on their way to becoming published authors! During our research unit in writing, third graders are conducting research about their favorite animal. Their research will include the animal’s habitat, life cycle, food and diet, physical features and other interesting fun facts. By the end of this unit, they will be experts on their favorite animal. Then, they will take the research and write a report which will get compiled into a published book. During this unit, they will master skills such as conducting research, note taking and building a written report. They will also experience the thrill of having their work published and seeing it in a book.
