Women's History Month - Second Grade

Each year, the month of March is set aside to honor women's contributions to American history. Women were essential to the founding of this nation and are essential on the path forward into its future. We celebrate Women's History Month to remind ourselves of the achievements of women throughout the years to our culture and society. From science to politics, it is a chance to reflect on the trailblazing women who led the way for change.

In second grade, we are taking time to celebrate Women's History Month by learning about influential women of the past and the present as a class. For independent learning, students chose their own influential woman to read about, write a mini-biography based on their readings, and put together a small presentation to the class.
