How to Apply
The Admissions Process at Crestview officially begins a full year before your child would actually start attending classes. Kindergarten applicants must be at least 5 years of age on September 1st.
Step 1. Visit Crestview
All interested parents are required to attend a School Day Tour. You will meet with the Head of School and Director of Admissions, hear about the Crestview program, see the school in action, and have the opportunity to ask questions from our student representatives and parent docents. Tours are scheduled on the following Wednesdays and Thursdays: October 6 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., November 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., December 1 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and January 11 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Reservations are required.
If you would like to see us in action as a community, we would love you to join us for a family-event either in the winter or spring.
In the winter, we gather for our Winter Concert please join us for a great show. It will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m.
In the spring, our families come together for a pancake breakfast and Walk-A-Thon to raise money and reach fitness goals. The 2016-2017 Walk-A-Thon is scheduled, for April 23, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Our school-wide Open House is a wonderful way to mingle with our whole community, faculty, students, and parents. The 2017 Spring Open House is scheduled for Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Step 2. Submit Application
Complete the Application for Admission and submit with the appropriate fee by Monday, January 30, 2017. (Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered as space is available.)
(Note: Log in and password are the same as those used for scheduling a tour.)
Families interested in financial assistance should apply using the FAST system.
Step 3. Request an interview
If you visit the school, and submit an application, and are truly interested in joining the Crestview community, we would love to meet you! An interview is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know your family and to answer any specific questions you may have about our program. Families that interview with us will receive priority.
Step 4. Deliver Teacher Recommendation Form and Transcript Request to current school.
Please note that there are different Teacher Recommendation Forms for transitional kindergarten/kindergarten applicants and first - sixth grade applicants. The Transcript Request is only for applicants for grades 1-6.
After completing the parent portion of the Teacher Recommendation Form and Transcript Request Form (applying to grades 1-6 only), give these forms to your child’s current teacher and school. The forms are then completed by the teacher and school and sent directly to Crestview.
Step 5. Schedule Evaluation Visits
Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Applicants:
1 – Developmental Screening
Register for the developmental screening through Integrated Learning Solutions at www.integratedlearningsolutions.org. Be sure to select Crestview Preparatory School as you are registering, in order for us to receive the results of the screening. To hear more information about the kindergarten readiness assessment, ILS will have a Parent Information evening: Wednesday, Nov. 9 at High Point Acadamy from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (parents only). This information packet from ILS provides details pertaining to the screening.
2 – Play Date
After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a "play date" visit for your child. Playdates will be select afternoons from 2:00 - 3:35 p.m. in January and February. During the visit they will hear a story, play outside, play inside, have a snack ,and, basically do what they might be comfortable doing in pre-school. This day is intended to be a fun experience for our applicants.
After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a "play date" visit for your child. Playdates are conducted in the morning from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. in one of our kindergarten classrooms. During the visit they participate in morning circle and rotate to literacy centers with the class. They will be paired with a kindergartener who will serve as a guide.
Grades 1-4 Applicants:
1 – School Visit
After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a school day visit for your child. The day will be spent in class with the child’s current grade level (for example, third grade if applying for fourth).
Grades 5-6 Applicants:

After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a school day visit for your child. The day will be spent in class with the child’s current grade level (for example, fifth grade if applying for sixth grade).
2 - ISEE Test
Applicants must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) no later than January 28, 2017. Online registration is available at erblearn.org. Crestview school code is 054140
Step 6. Wait Eagerly
Admissions decisions will be mailed March 2017 in coordination with the Pasadena Consortium of Independent Schools.
If your child has been placed on our wait list due to limited availability of spaces, we ask that you contact us to verify your interest in remaining on the list. We will follow up as spaces become available.
