Application Process & Calendar
The Admissions Process at Crestview officially begins a full year before your child would actually start attending classes.
Download or Call for an Application Packet
Application packets are available October 1 for the following school year. Application materials are available to download and print under Forms & Download. Or, you may call Michele Poteet, Crestview’s Director of Admissions, at (818) 952-0925 to have a packet sent to you.
Visit Crestview
Our Admissions Open House is scheduled for a Sunday afternoon each fall. Faculty and host families and students will be on hand to answer your questions about Crestview. The date for the Admissions Open House will be posted as soon as the calendar for the coming year is set.
The upcoming Fall Admissions Open House is scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2012, 12:30 to 2:30.
All interested parents are required to attend a School Tour. The tours are scheduled October through December during the school day. You will meet with the Head of School, hear about the Crestview program, see the school in action, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Please contact Michele Poteet at (818) 952-0925 or info@crestviewprep.org to schedule your visit.
In the Spring, our school-wide Open House and opening day for our Book Faire is a wonderful way to mingle with our whole community, faculty, students, and parents. The 2013 Spring Open House is scheduled for Sunday, March 24, 12:30 to 2:30.
Submit Application
Complete the Application for Admission and submit with the appropriate fee by February 1st. (Families interested in Financial Assistance will find information under on the Financial Assistance page in our website).
Deliver Teacher Evaluation Form and Transcript Request to current school
Please note that there are different Teacher Evaluation Forms for kindergarten applicants, first grade applicants, and applicants to grades 2-6. The Transcript Request is only for applicants for grades 1-6.
After completing the parent portion of the Teacher Recommendation Form and Transcript Request Form (applying to grades 1-6 only), give these forms to your child’s current teacher and school. The forms are then completed by the teacher and school and sent directly to Crestview.
Schedule Evaluation Visits
Kindergarten Applicants:
1 – Developmental Screening
Register for the developmental screening through Integrated Learning Solutions of San Marino at www.integratedlearningsolutions.org. Be sure to check Crestview Preparatory School as you are registering in order for us to receive the results of the evaluation.
2 – Play Day
After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a "play day" visit for your child in January or early February. During the visit they will hear a story, play outside, play inside, have a snack and, basically, do what they might be comfortable doing in pre-school. This day is intended to be a fun experience for our applicants.
Grades 1-4 Applicants:
1 – School Visit
After submitting the application, you will receive an email asking you to schedule a school day visit for your child. The day will be spent in class with the child’s current grade level (for example, third grade if applying for fourth).
Grades 5-6 Applicants:
1 – School Visit
After submitting the application, you will receive a letter asking you to schedule a school day visit for your child. The day will be spent in class with the child’s current grade level (for example, fourth grade if applying for fifth).
Wait Eagerly
Admissions Decisions will be mailed March 8, 2013 in coordination with the Pasadena Consortium of Independent Schools.
If your child has been placed on our wait list due to limited availability of spaces, we ask that you contact us to verify your interest in remaining on the list. We will follow up as spaces become available.
